My name is Sienna Rose Sossi and I am a writer for the Muse Magazine at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. I have written stories from events, to satirecle, to students opinions. Writing is a strong passion for me and I plan to continue for the rest of my life.

Made Under Pressure

Black Friday: The Most Important Holiday

Freshman Guide To Club Rush

I chose this piece because it was both the first story I co-wrote and that was published in print. It both shows my interviewing skills but also demonstrates how I can work with others

I chose this piece because it shows off my comical skills. I am very proud of this piece since it is a humorous piece poking fun at the stereotypical Black Friday Shopper

I chose this piece because it was the first serious journalism piece I wrote. While I am proud of it it demonstrates how I have grown as a writer

Our Schools New Smile

A Drip Goes A Long Way

The Holiday Spirit of Jefferson Jubilee

I chose this piece because of the memories it has given me. While writing it I further understood the importance of asking good interview questions and how to make the person you're interviewing feel comfortable.

This piece was chosen because of the connection I got to make. I was able to meet many people in the medical field and they taught me how taking blood works

I used this piece because I love the emotion that was put in through the quotes. The interviews were so fun and very telling

Inauguration for "Inspiration"
Aris Style
Nothing but Net

I chose this piece because I feel it was my first really successful live coverage. Josiah was a huge fan of the piece and it won a Best of Sno

I chose this piece since it was my first feature. It highlighted her passions so well and her personality shined through the writing

This was a live coverage on sports. One of my goals was to try each type of coverage and this was my first and only sports piece showing each players competitiveness.

The Appeal of SunFest

This was a really exciting live coverage. I got to cover big artists that I am a fan of. Also it was a learning experience with interviewing since I was under pressure to find people. It stretched my interviewing skills.

Personal Narrative

When I tried out for Dreyfoos I had always been interested in writing. It is a great way to show people what is going on in the world through interviewing and quotes and description.

However even though I've had been interested in journalism for years I didn't realize how little I knew about writing. From the rules of interviewing, to the laws of ethics, I have learned a lot.

When my first story was assigned to cover Club Rush I couldn't have expected how much of a journey it would take me on. From running around during lunch to get interviews for it becoming a satirical piece of "advice" for the freshman

However with the help of my amazing editors and photographers I was able to publish a piece that I was incredibly proud of.

Now I have written many stories that are all different categories. Now I fully understand what the importance of journalism is. It helps others fully unde4rtsnad and relate to what is happening from an unbiased source. I am so excited to get to work with the Muse for the next semester.

After the end of the year I can happily say I've tried and learned so much.

I have tried so much more coverage like events, features, and 24 hour coverage.

I would say I'm most happy with the live coverage I've gotten to do this semester. Beside from Prom, every live coverage I've attempted this year I've gotten up in 24 hours.

The other coverage I've been really proud of is the feature of Aris Style. She really enjoyed the coverage and I made a friend out of it. The coverage was also well received will made me happy.

I'm happy I got to write so many different types of pieces this year so Next year I can take a step back and be focused on my staffers as a CTE.
